2003 CLK 430 Cab Info

Hello All,
I'm a newbee to the Forum as a participant so please don't be to harsh! Lol
I've owned two Mercedes in my past, 1997 E320 and 2002 E320. Night and day difference in the drive and handling. Next week I'm looking to for a purchase to go old school back to a 2003 Blk/Blk CLK430 Conv 98K miles. I test drove one yesterday and it felt older than I thought I would imagine. Are they all going to feel like this or was this particular car was an outlier of not being well cared for. To be honest it was at a Moms Pop car dealership and it look better in pictures than in person. But still I wasn't ready for how it idled and the slack in the gas pedal.
My questions for the forurm is:
1. Does the CLK suppose to feel sluggish when pressing the gas pedal?
2. What are the gremlins on these cars?
3. Will it be worth the $ to own an old school CLK 430 Cabriolet?
4. Is there anyone on the forums know of this car and any of its history? See link: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/WDBLK70G43T137814
Thanks in advance to all that reply
Stan

1. I do not think it suppose to feel sluggish, but responsive more than anything. 2. Surprisingly very strong you may get some ABS/SRS issues down the road but other than that normal maintenance is required. 3 Any car of that age can/may have some issues, but it may depend on asking price, and deduct from that pricepoint. Appearance is key if paint is peeling fading rims are scarred, tires are old bald and other miscellaneous options for depend on price point also. No maintenance records for me is a deal breaker. 4. N/A on link
Gud luck

2001 CLK320 Cabrio
Have owned my 2001 since new and after 21 years and 109K miles, other than religiously doing routine maintenance (e.g. engine oil, air filter, fuel filter, coolant changes, brake components/fluid and transmission bushing/fluid/filter service), have experienced only a couple of very common MB issues (e.g. CPS, MAF, blower regulator, brake light switch, spark plugs), which were all inexpensive DIY repairs, it remains my daily driver.

Per the Carfax, for the last 5 years and 52K miles, note that no maintenance has been performed by the 3rd owner.

You'll find more information in regard to the 2003 CLK430 Cabriolet your considering and seller's price at https://www.iseecars.com/vin .

Caveat emptor !
