Just picked up a 99 CLK430 & was curious if the combo switches for the interior lights & sunroof illuminate when the parking lights are turned on

Also, when you lock the car with the remote how many times are the parking lights supposed to blink? Should there also be an audio beep as well?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but my car didnt come with a manual

in my 98 clk320 the buttons for the sunfoor and interior lights dont illuminate period. when i lock the car with the remote, i believe it blinks 3 times? dont think any MBs beep when you open/lock

some mb's can be programmed via star diagnose to beep/chirp. last time steve (mbenznl) was in nyc he programmed my boys 04 e500 to chirp and some other kids w203 to chirp. he tried my w208 but couldnt get it to work. also said that mostly all the mb's over in the netherlands chirp and everyone hates it and they ask him to turn the chirp off

Another question, though.

1. Do the labels around the light switch illuminate when the lights are on? The switch itself is illuminated & the front & rear fog labels light up when they are switched on, but the other labels dont.

i just checked it out...the switches for the sunroof/internal lights DO illuminate and the external light switch does not.
