German Cars are crash tested at 100mph+. Japanese vehicles are tested at closer to 65mph.

That was one of my thoughts... my other thought initially was that it was an insurance scam to get 3 new cars... but, I trust everyone here is honest at heart... so I won't add any comments in regards to that...

The insurance company will generally give you a low bluebook value if your car is totalled. Why risk your life, the other person's life, and your insurance rates when you could just walk into a dealership with your pink slip?

all i know is that, when i totalled my last car, the insurance paid me back about 85% of the initial purchase price after using the car for about 2 1/2 yrs...

but yeah, insurance will sky rocket...

why would you purposely total an 01 carrera with 20k miles or a CLK with only 30k. There is no point. BTW i dont know if u guys are thinking this but the 3 accidents were 3 different crashes in the spam of a year. They didnt have anything to do with eachother. The porsche crashed driving way 2 fast against me and the is. The is crashed 4 months later when he did a lane change and some lady in a van slammed into him (his car wasnt totalled). And mine happened when some lady ran a stop sign. BTW: It doesnt seem like they are totalling the car but ill find out this week. In any case im not keeping it. If its not totalled im going to sell it as is and keep the money that the insurance company gives for repairs

ya u know i was thinking about getting it but im buying a house in the next 3-4 months and i cant pay 2 high of car payments and a mortgage. i mean the 430 is good enough to deal with especially cuz i really dont want to race anymore. it has enough power to have fun when i want to and keeps me from trying to start **** with m3's and evo's and carrera S's. I know if i had the 55 ide try to **** with every old guy in a porsche and every kid in a STI or evo. safer to get a 430. BTW: i raced a mustang GT and 350Z before i crashed. The GT was a POS but the 350Z handled soo good. I was keeping up with him untill the turns and I didnt have the ***** to keep pushing the car.
