Brake system (ABS) problem

Hello,
can anyone help me with this problem? It appeared to me yesterday and I don't know what it means and what measures to take.

The same lights/warning message came on for my car. Was nothing wrong with BAS or antilock systems. As strange as it sounds, it was the brake light switch! Someone on this forum suggested I try replacing it. I was skeptical, but it was cheap and easy to do. Drove about 1000 ft after replacing it and lights and messages disappeared. Maybe that's it?

Make sure its not off the parts store shelf. It won't last long. That's experience speaking. Get it from the dealership. Jsaying
