CLK 430 - brake topic: 55 amg calipers on?
Hello,
As I have now a new magnaflow muffler
As I am still waiting for my pipes to install the CLK 55 amg W209 airbox
I am considering to install used E55 W210 brake calipers.
I have read over the forum it is a direct fit with W208
The ones I've found show are really cheap so I'm saying to myself it will be a nice upgrade. (new ones are USD 1k each!!! insane)
Do you know if they are larger than the OEM 430 ones? I have 18 rims with 8.5 wide but it doesn't look there are much more space between the current calipers and the rims.
I would like to keep some 430 Brembo rotors unless someone has a better idea. I think 55AMG rotors are way too expansive.
Then I would buy new pads, MB / OEM ones I believe are good enough. Do you know who build them as manufacturer?

I used the w203 C32 AMG calipers and rotors. They're 4 piston brembos and are a nice upgrade. Your 18's should fit over them (I'm not 100% positive - like 98%). You will have to get the matching rotors - the 430 rotors won't work. If I remember correctly they were less expensive than the 55 brakes and a nicer looking upgrade.

Yes, it was a very popular mod when the 208 was current. They’re also much better looking than the 55 ones which look very similar to the stock brakes. Also 4 piston vs. 2.

Short update,
I’ve finally bought a full front brake kit from w210 e55 AMG, calipers and original disks (still in a good state). Very good deal in my opinion.
I’ll install them soon and keep you posted once done
