Key fob not working
Hey everyone
I have an 02 clk 430
the other day the key fob took on some water and when went to leave work the car unlocked fine but the ignition would not let me turn the key. I took it apart dried everything out and put new batteries in. The key fob is is lighting up and the rfid is working but now it doesn’t work for the doors or ignition. I am really far from a Mercedes’ dealership and they want the car towed there to program a new key plus it’s ridiculously expensive to buy a key and have it programmed. Just wondering if anyone has any other troubleshooting tips for this before I bite the bullet. So far I’ve only really checked fuses and tried to re pair the fob but I’m not even sure I’m doing that right. Any help is appreciated
