2002 CLK 320 Loss of Power When in Park
Hello Fellow CLK Owners, it's been a while since I've posted here mostly because the car has been great (albeit rusty fenders). I've had a problem come up recently where the car starts and drives fine but if I stop and put it in park, after some time (few minutes to 10 minutes) the car would just lose all power. All the lights on the dash, my kenwood head unit etc all lose power. I then have to turn the key to the off position, remove it, open the door and close then the car will start fine. Once started, the ABS / BAS warning comes up and my Kenwood is on Standby losing its last remembered setting (Radio / USB etc.)
If the car shuts off while in Park, I cannot turn the key into the off position then immediately start the car as the key doesn't turn. I have to remove the key and do the steps stated above. I haven't driven the car for a long enough period in one go to see if it'll shut off while driving but perhaps I should do that as a test through some neighbourhood roads etc. If anyone can shed some light on this or provide some suggestions that'll be greatly appreciated!
P.S I know the behaviour when I disconnect the battery and reconnect the windows will roll down a couple inches and I have to do the procedure of resetting everything but that doesn't occur in this instance.

Just an update, it "seems" like the issue could be my alternator failing as the voltage drops while the car is running in park and then shuts off. Seems consistent after 5-10 minutes. I will swap out (my mechanic I mean) the alternator and do some further testing. I've never had an alternator issue like this though.
