UUUGH....bad news from the dealership...

UUUGH....bad news from the dealership...
Turns out that my CLK i just recently bought has a leak in the differential joint and its going to cost me $1100 to fix. Anyone else out there ever dealt with this problem? Im going to try to get the seller and the inspection company (SGS) to help me out with the costs. Any recommendations from a technological, or legal, standpoint? I'll post pics of the car once i get everything settled down.

leagally...
you are stuck...all sales are as is, unless you can point to a seperate statement that the owner made about the specific thing that is broken. 
Or the owner perhaps did some work recently that would have shown the problem, thus they were covering it up. 
If it was from a dealership...attempt the future business approach. i.e.I would be buying an "S" for my wife, but.....
