2003 CLK 320 tires
Now that I have the issues sorted out on my CLK 320 and am ready to take it out for some short trips the next thing I need to do is replace the 12 year old long expired Eagle GT tires. I have been looking around and the tires I am interested in are the Michelin Crossclimate and the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus. I know this may be opening Pandora's Box but anyone have any suggestions? I of course will not be taking this little baby to the track but I do want good traction in dry and wet conditions, a quiet ride, and good tread life. Oh, and gotta look good too.
I just replaced the 7 year old Pirellis on mine with a set of Sumitomo HTR A/S PO3s. Quiet, good grip in both the wet and dry and a really nice ride that suits the car. I've got about 1,000 miles on them, including a recent 700 mile road trip.
Pulled the trigger!!
I decides to go with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 PLUS. After some research I found that they should give me the ride, performance, wear, and are fairly quiet. I only plan on driving the car during the warm weather so not worried about bad weather traction.
