sorry to hear about your problem. It could be the fuel pump.

By the way, did you install the sensor yourself? How difficult was it? If you did the install, could you post some instructions?

Thanks.

The crankshaft position sensor problem is actually when the car will turn over, but will not crank over to start the vehicle. What do you hear when you try to start the car?

Hey nick,

That is exactly my problem, it cranks but just doesn't turn over to start. I bought a new ignition position sensor and it's still doing the same thing, it seems to start perfectly when the car is cold but when the car gets hot that's when I encounter it cranking but not turning over, i'm wondering if I got a faulty sensor from the dealership.

Any assistance you or anyone can provide will greatly be appreciated, gets embarrassing, here I am with a benz that looks good and don't even start and a hyundai guy next to me jumps in and is on his way.

Is there a special way to install the sensor?

Unfortunately I don't even know what the sensor looks like as I didn't install mine. You are correct, the problem only happens when the car is warm. Sorry man, wish I could be of more help. Try PMing MBTECH208, he might be able to offer more assistance.

Yup that was the end of my problems. Also, have you checked the voltage on your battery? I ended up replacing my battery before the sensor as I had killed it trying to crank the car without success. Good luck man!

I have the same problem too. I drive me crazy. Where I can get the parts? Price? Is it difficult to DIY?

Thanks

The sensor takes @ 30-40 mins to install if you have the correct tools. I paid $100.00 for mine at the dealer. Make sure you get the correct one for your car. MB used 2 types on the 208 body. The only difference between the 2 is the connector end. Read theses links......
