CLK 430 convertible
Rear window regulator help
My 2002 CLK 430 convertible needs a new rear window regulator, part #2086700203. Unfortunately, it looks like this part is discontinued and not available from any online part sellers. The auto shop I’m working with prefers to wait until a new, unused part can be found. They’ve been searching for the part for almost 2 months now without any luck.
My question is, how likely is it that a new, unused window regulator will become available from one of the online part sellers?
Also, is there any chance a window regulator from the newer w209 body style will be compatible with the 208??

I found one website that indicates the w209 rear window regulator will work for the w208. It’s probably worth a try. https://mercedesbenz.worldoemparts.c...Y4LWdhcw%3D%3D

When a rear window on the A208 cabriolet won't go up, down or partially, the glass pane is loose etc., you may not have to pay for and replace the entire window regulator assembly.
The culprit is frequently just a $10 plastic block, that retains the regulators cable ends has broken, preventing full window operation.
Here's a video that explains how to access and repair the rear window regulator.
