Engine Temp light
Hello all, my engine temp light came on in the center display. The icon was white/gray not red and no message. I have a 2007 CLK 320. Scan came back with code 0694 and m4/7. I am wondering how do you know if you need to replace the cooling fan assembly or could it be a sensor? Any help is appreciated

run a diagnostic with a basic bluetooth scanner, they're like 10 12 15 bucks.
There could be a number of things, I could ask a bunch of dumb questions... but obviously check your fluids. when the car is up to temp, check if the fans are on and with a glove on, try and see if you can feel coolant flowing when the fans are on.
