How to remove trunk lid license plate housing?

Does anybody know the steps to remove the rear trunk license plate housing?

Mine is starting to disintegrate where the screws hold it in and I want to try to repair the plastic.

I wanted to know where you able to remove the moulding because for my middle screw i have this flat looking screw piece and was unsure if there was a tool or if i need to remove the trunk liner in order to remove it.

Hi Hellshadow,

I haven’t gotten around to taking off that trim piece yet. I have the same question about the round metal piece in the middle. Will let you know what I find out.

finally got around to removing the trunk liner so I can gain access in order to install a backup camera( side note if your getting a camera with a screw make sure it is closer to the camera itself rather than the back as it will not fit properly into that middle hole had to learn that the hard way)
anyways the screw has a square base in order to be removed I used an 8mm socket and it unscrewed pretty easily its held on with some rubberized sealant and can be removed with a flat head screwdriver which takes the nut and the seal off at once.
