My Seat back release is not functioning on the drivers side. The cables are not being actuated by the handle, but the electrical switch does work. How can I remove the handle to see if the cables are broken or have come loose? I have removed most of the seat back trim, but cannot get to the mechanism. I have not been able to remove the handle by pulling straight out as an earlier thread recommended. Is there a trick to getting it off? Help please!

Update
An update: I was able to remove the handle by heating it up with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes and then giving it another good pull. Now I have to figure a way to replace the small plastic guide that holds the cables to the metal bracket. the guide is broken allowing the cables to come out of the bracket and therefore not actuate when the lever is raised.

I had this same issue, and just superglued the remaining pieces of the plastic bushing into place. It has held for 6 months.

I had the same problem a few months ago. I superglued it and it’s holding well.
