Indicators/wipers/hazards not working

Hi all, I have an issue with my CLK230 whereby the indicators, wipers and hazards are not working.

I have tried replacing fuse 41, but every time I put a new fuse in, it shorts itself immediately.

I have some theories around why this has happened. Last month I got the lamp malfunction warning immediately after washing my car, and it turned out my front left foglight stopped working. Now this current issue has occurred the morning after I washed my car.

Is it possible some water has gotten into wiring and is causing a short circuit in either the indicators or wiper motor? Should I start by trying to disconnect the wiring to the indicators? I have no experience in DIY on my car yet.

Should I take my car to a mechanic, or an auto electrician?

2001 CLK 430

The SAM (signal acquisition module) is located underneath the fuse box under the bonnet. Good chance you've got some corrosion in that area. Disconnect battery and wait 15 mins before taking anything apart.
Make sure your drain holes are clear at each end of the scuttle area.
