Alternative Part?

2001 CLK 430 Cabrio 2000 SL 500
Alternative Part?
Has anybody found or made an alternative to the part number 168-992-01-05? It's the stupid little trim around the door lock knob on the interior on the top of the door. Both of mine have died to heat rot and I am seriously having a hard time clicking 'Place Order' for $67 just for two little stupid pieces lol. Especially given most other cars have them listed for like $5 a piece at most.
Has anybody found an alternative piece for these, or just made their own?

I find most parts I need at the local pick n pull. We’ve got probably 10 different locations here in Kansas City, so it’s just a matter of finding which one has a CLK in the yard.
