Timeport Sprint PCS Phone for 2000 CLK430
I recently purchased a 2000 CLK430 convertible. I have been trying to find a timeport phone that will work in the car and seem to be running into roadblocks. I recently purchased a used Motorola Sprint PCS phone (Model P8767). It activated ok but when I hooked it up to the car it did not work. When I called MBZ, they said that the only phone that would work would be the one that actually has the Mercedes Benz logo on the phone. Is that true? Is there anything that can be done to the phone to make it work (i.e. a software upgrade??). Any others options? Thanks!

unfortunately, if you want to use timeport phones, you WILL need to use the one with the Mercedes logo on the front... the Mercedes logo timeport phones have special firmware that makes it compatible with the phone system in the car... and there is no way of updating the firmware on the phone to work with your CLK... sorry...
