My MB has never been the same since I had the 50,000 mile tuneup and a few other things done to it.
How does one determine whether or not there is a transmission problem? As it is a sealed component?
When I drive my CLK over 50 miles per hour I feel and hear a very low HUMMING sound that has a uniform, cyclical sound...as if caused by the same point in a rotation or spinning of a part. It's like I can hear and feel the transmission in certain gear moving the car along.
Secondly, when I am idling now in drive and I am stopped I get a pretty annoying vibration, whci is not present when I am in neutral and is even worse when I put my car in reverse.
In addition, i can feel a vibration in the steering wheel. I just had an alignment done and new Michelin pilots put on.
I really need some help, everybody. I love my car, but only have 6 months left on my Starmark and I am worried a **** about the future...it's sad, really...55,000 miles on my car and I am scared as hell of it. Really.

Have your engine mounts checked. Mine went bad and did this same thing, except it was smooth in neutral, park, and reverse. The mounts went bad AGAIN - luckily there's a one year warranty on the parts so its gonna be covered for free

if that vibe is worse in reverse, i'd first have that exhaust adjustment checked-maybe it's too damn tight.
motor mounts are definetly a thought...i don't know if they'd be covered. who does eh?
have the new shoes re-balanced.
INSIST the most experienced ***** there does it.
DON'T mention ANY other car gripes to them.
they'll probably want to debate you a bit.
besides everybody knows you not half the debater your brother is.
if you've really had it with that fire-engine, start re-searching re-sale value and contemplatating your next vehicle.
so times it's best to move on to the next one
see ya

Thanks for the advice. I 'll look into that..hope the engine mounts are in the Star mark...sounds like they might not be!
I really just want to get his thing up to par...love it other than that...but once you drive one when it's running correctly it is hard to not be distracted by anything functioning sub par
