Stuck in 2nd gear and break-in attempt

Stuck in 2nd gear and break-in attempt
My gear box was acting up in the last 1 month, first it was slamming into gear, then it was getting stuck in 4th, then in 3rd, and finally in 2nd.
I had to drive at 40 mph in 2nd at 4000 rpm on the highway to the workshop with all the trucks and vans busy overtaking me. It was actually quite hilarious if not for the fact that the bill this time is going to run into the thousands.
And if that wasn't enough, I was looking around the car at the workshop when I saw some marks on the glass, side-sill and rubber mount of the passenger side. Some FU(Ker actually tried to break into my car. Problem is I can't figure out where it happened because I just couldn't be 100% sure when the damage was inflicted as the car was parked in about 3 different places in the last 3 days. The worse thing was that the car was actually left undriven for a day and a half at my condo's car park since it was stuck in 2nd. Was it done in the condo??? Count myself lucky that the attempt wasn't succesful, at least in stealing something.
