Hey does anyone out there know how to remove the plastic structure to replace the dome light in a '99 CLK 430? Thanks for your help!

Grab the side and pull down.

Thanks for your enthusiasm, but that's a little vague for me? Grab what side? Have you replaced your dome light bulb before? Thanks for the help.

Literally, the plastic lens pulls down and the bulb will be exposed. Put your fingernails between the plastic and the headliner and tug a bit, you will feel the clips come loose. Like mostly everything else in your car, it is a very tight fit, so tug with even pressure. Good luck!

You were right, simple as just pulling it down! Will the "Defective Lamp" warning go off or does the computer code need to be reset?

I replaced the bulb and then switched the lights from on to "parking" status and the "Defective Lamp" warning went away. However I did that before and it was only temporary? Thanks for the information once again!

Cheers,
David
