There is a 2 pc version in that wheel in 18". Levon is using a H&R spring kit.

I hear a lot of people saying this and I thought I understood it. I thought it was due to the fact that you need more torque to turn a larger wheel. But really, a 19" wheel with tires and a 16" wheel with tires have the same diameter... so that can't be it.

Why does this happen? the weight of the rims?

yea the weight is the factor. I'm not really sure how much my 19's weight, but im sure they are heafvier than stock 17's. the stock 17 wheel with tire is about 40 lb's. i'll measure the weight of the 19 with tire and i'll post it.

This happens for 2 reasons. First, with a heavier a wheel, it requires more force to start or stop them. Second, when you switch to a larger diameter wheel, even though you change to a shorter tire, the diameter does increase. It is not much, but you can definitely notice the difference if you looked at a 17 w/ tire and a 19 w/ tire at the same time (This is one of the reasons why 20" wheels will not fit). With the larger diamter, comes more surface area, and thus more force is required to begin rotation.

When I sold and shipped my 19 inch CL's the 8.5 inch wheel with 245x35 S03's weighed in at a very hefty 60 lbs. I was too scared to measure the 9.5 inch rear. I am sure chromes will weigh even more.

the diameter is definaitely more... cause when i had 17's on, i could easily put my hand between the tire and fender. Now that i havw 18's, i cant put my hand there anymore.

so the speedometer is definitely affected when you switch to larger wheels.
