Rear Defogger problems

Hey everyone, Im having problems with my rear defogger. I brought my car to the dealer and they said it works fine. Now the scoop is that I just had my rear winshield tinted and it looks damn sweet if I may say but now the defogger doesnt work again. So what will the dealer say and do to fix it? Will they tell me I have to take off the tint? If so, will they replace the tint for me after its fixed? After all, this is not my fault b/c they said the defogger was fixed the first time, so like any person out there, I took their word and tinted my windows. Thanks:o

If they tell you it's the tint's fault, just keep fighting . Obviously there was a problem with it before you tinted the back windshield, so they shouldn't give you any trouble.

It's a pretty good bet that they will try and blame the tint on the defogger. Make sure you fight and stand strong.

I think realistically the best you might get is that they will fix the defogger for free but they won't re-tint your rear window for you.

good luck

Yeah, they blame everything on my tint (car not starting, windows not working, etc.), but I always fight and win.

I'm guessing they won't need to remove the tint from your back windshield, since the problem probably lies in some relay or wiring outside the actual window. Just a guess, though.

Just be sure never to let them BS you into believing some stupid modification (i.e. tint) caused anything.

Hmmm, the first time they fixed it, they said they hooked up some machine to the heating coils and they said it was heating up? The button for the defogger lights up. I think its the entire rear winshield that needs to be replaced I sure hope not

i hope not too! The last thing you want is for the dealer to replace your rear window! They will never ever be able to put it back together like the factory does. So the result may be..... rust, noise.. etc
