Newbie wants a 430
Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a 99' CLK 430. There are a few in Denver that are around $23k-$25k range. The mileage on these cars are about normal 55-60K. The only thing that I'm worried about is the cost of repairs. I have been reading other posts and they look to be fairly reliable but then there are some horror stories I have heard. I guess my question is what is the normal warranty on these cars and can you still buy an extended, since the car is roughy 4-5yrs old.
BTW, do these cars have 4 or 5 seats?

4 seats. Reliability is a tough thing to predict. Overall, my 01' 320 has been fairly reliable, however I would invest in an add on warranty (provided it's from someone reputable like AUL) to cover catastrophic repairs. I used to have a 99' 320 and had the tranny implode at 80K. Relatively rare occurance. Nonetheless, that was 4500.00 to repair from the dealer.

You should be able to get an MB warranty from Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (800) 655-3535. She hooked us up with a great one for a 2000 car that had 55k miles. I think 60k might be the cutoff for her thing, but call and make sure. If you don't get through, call back in a bit because leaving voicemail usually doesnt work real fast. Great warranty though!
