wtf horrible MPG!!!
I was just looking on my display and it claims i am getting 11.6 mpg!! maybe i have a v8 under the hood
every day i drive about 40 miles of highway to and from work (in a calm matter so i get about 18mpg ) then when i drive around in town it shoots down to 11.6!! this can not be normal and i dont drive that crazy (no stoplight redline accelerations etc) so what can i be doing wrong? its not the gas either i always put premium
also a little
but what should be the correct tire pressures for the 17 inch wheels with the michelin pilots?

The inside of your door should have a tag on it that lists the recommended tire pressure for the stock wheel/tire setup. Tire pressure reading should not be taken after driving, since the tires will be warm, which will effect the reading.

It depends where you live. City driving in Salt Lake City is very different from city driving in los angeles. Stop and go traffic easily lower your mileage. I get around 12 in west los angeles because I tend to drive during rush hours.

I can't comment on actual MPG since I don't own one (yet), but the MBUSA listed city MPG is 20, so this sounds really bad. Even in stop n go traffic shoudn't you be getting at least 16-17?

the formula used to calculate the city driving mpg is flawed and no longer reflects actual city driving. Automakers continue to use it because it produces higher numbers although their may be changes maded due to consumer complaints. This is used by all automakers not just Mercedes. In any case, expect 17-18 normal city driving 12-14 in congested traffic. Also depends on air conditioning, tires, tire pressure, weather, etc... I've gotten 5-8 before in jammed traffic.
