Performance Chip

Has anyone added a chip to their CLK500? I have a 03 I’m thinking about adding a chip to.

Who has the best & the best price? Any other performance ideas?

How about other springs to firm up the ride a little? I didn’t go the CLK55 rout as I had a C43 AMG that jarred my fillings loose. I like a firm ride, but not bone jarring.

speedtuningusa and upsolute have the cheapest chips that I've seen - both around $300. I've never heard of anyone in this forum with either one, although there seems to be a number of people in some of the other forums with them. Powerchip is about $1k and is pretty common - a couple people in this forum have them. Kleemann and Renntech also do remaps - Kleemann is about $1k and the Renntech one is closer to $2k.

Do the chips do much good? My experience with chips and programmers hasn't been wonderful. You spend the money, put them in and nothing happens.

Chips

I have had several: Porsche’s, BMW, and some others as well with very noticeable results. Some with forced induction, on the forced induction it is incredible. Most all have removed the speed limiter & moved up the engine redline. I have not had any problems with any of the installations. If I keep the CLK500 it will get one. I could just do a CLK55 if the ride is ok.
