I just spoke to my dealer and he is advising me that the clk500 you can get two tone seats, but they are optional 1150.

Now I am wondering if the clk500 is worth it

52000 approximate price
plus sunroof
bi-xenons
in command
heated seats
______________
approximately 57300
plus tax 3% = close to 60k

hmm. it's making me think twice.

May I know what tax (3%) do you refer to? I thought it was supposed to be 11% (luxurious tax). Correct me if I am wrong because I am not too sure.

VA sales tax on cars. As far as luxury tax it's I believe 4% this year for the amount over 40k and next year the luxury tax is totally gone 0%.

I don't know for 60k, I think i am better off throwing another 10k into it and getting new Porsche 911. I don't get this, they won't discount clk500, but I have gotten offers up to 8500 off msrp on 911s brand new. All of the sudden I don't seem not need all the luxuries. I think if it was 55k well equiped then I would not hesitate. My 2cents.

I have to admit that I also considered the 911... But to be honest, even with the addition of the glove box, etc I tend to expect more from the vehicle. (creature comforts) Not to mention that once I got finished adding in the options (rims, aero kit minus the wing, interior finishes, etc) the vehicle will be alot more than 10k more even with a HUGE discount. But then again, if you like the 911 base it may be the way to go.

Any 'Special Order' option, regardless of how many, is surcharged a one time fee of $1,150. In this case, the 2-tone CLK seat upholstery option is a Special Order item. It's the price you must pay for being unique. ...RAB

what other "special Order" Option could i get them to throw in for $1150. I am not sure if I am gonna go for the luxury look or sporty look. I think my e46 might carry the sporty look while the clk500 - i might opt for the luxury. I think white is a good color.
