Easy-to-clean brake dust on MY2006 CLK

After a month of driving my new car, it developed a layer of brake dust in the front rims. I took it to the washer today (manual wash) thinking that it would be a pain to remove, as many of you have reported here. Well, to my surprise the dust came off easily; it only took some light brushing and watering. After all I had read regarding the topic, it was quite a relieve! I wonder if the new rims have a particular layer that prevents the dust from sticking, or MB changed the brake pads. Anyway, it's good to see that brake dust will not be an issue for any of the new CLK owners.

I have a 2003 clk320 I got it in Dec 2002 and I do not have a problem cleaning the brake dust from the rims. For me it has not really been a problem.

Oh yeah I hear ya!

It must suck for those SL55 owners with those multi-spoke wheels. Gotta use like a really thin brush to get the dust out of from between the spokes!

Most likely due to the dealer waxing the rims before delivery. If you keep them waxed it is a lot easier to maintain them, plus to have a layer of protection from the crap coming off the brakes.

Ricky, is this for the wheels specifically or the car in general? What's the product called exactly and where can I find some? I've never seen it at my autoparts store. Thanks.

Factory floor was too dirty. If someone contacts me, I have some videos of Zaino on the windows and I'm spraying water on them. It's absolutley sick. I showed Kar Don (AliBoston, the guy that got me into this) and he was shocked.

CLKCadet, I have the pictures somewhere, I'll have to find them, in the meantime here's a sneak peek.

Chi500: It's a full suite of products, it's for the entire vehicle. It's a step by step process that everyone who uses it (well, almost everyone) swears by.

That's the official website, and the best place to get it. You'll never find it in an autoparts store because it's just that good

How often do you have to reapply Zaino?

Honestly, I haven't really applied a good layer in a few months. It's suggested you do it at least once a month.
