Cool Pics with Carlsson Rims and a question

Hey guys,

I finally got the Carlsson 18" wheels installed on the car, alongwith lowered Kleemann suspension and illuminated Mercedes-Benz door sills. Here are some pics. I love the new look and lowered profile.

I have however noticed slight vibration in the car body once it hits 100 kmph. The vibration is very slight but noticeable. It seems to be not coming from the steering, but the whole left side of the car is vibrating. The workshop has assured me that wheels are 100% balanced. They however had to use the stock Mercedes nuts for the wheels, as Carlsson nuts were a little long and there was a noise coming from the wheels with them. Could it be due to wheel nuts?

Please let me know if any of you has faced the similar thing. Any suggestions are most welcome.

it could be the wheel bolts. You could take it back to the wheel shop and ask them to check the torque reading or you could get a torque wrench and do it yourself. If you don't already have one they have them at Walmart for about $23. You'll need a 17mm socket for our wheel bolts. The manual says that the torque should be 80 ft-lbs.

it could also be that your spacers don't fit right. maybe they are not made very accurate. happens very often in the us in my opinion. don't no about canada though. you should go back to the shop and tell them to fix it. you have paid them money and they didn't do their job right. that's how i see it.

Or it could be that your alignment is just off and needs to be adjusted and you didn't notice it before, a particle/piece of something got wedged between the wheel and hub and is preventing the wheel from sitting flat, the spacer is slightly wedged (if you have spacers), the tires are not actually balanced properly, etc.

Thanks for your comments guys. These wheels are Carlsson 1/16 BE. Fronts are 8"X18" and the rear wheels are 10"x18". The complete information on these wheels is at this address

http://www.carlsson.de/en/tuning/clk...r/1_16_be.html

I am getting the wheel alignment done on Friday, when the car goes back to the dealership for a noise coming out of catalytic converter. And my next purchase would be a torque wrench. I'll keep you guys posted of car updates.

I am also planning to shoot some photos outside on Friday (taking a day off from the office, drop car at Mercedes dealership, play golf, pick up the car, go out of dinner with my girlfriend, take it easy all in all )). Weather is so nice up here in Toronto, so much sun, it's just blessedly awesome.

Cheers,

Zee

Those Carlsson rims look amazingly like my stock rims from Merc themselves. I got the CLK 280 with the Sports Package (not the AMG package) and they are very very similiar.

Check my link below to see what I mean.
