Finaly Ordered K&N Replacement

Hi Guys

I finaly ordered a K&N replacement element.

Im really looking forward to seeing if it makes any difference, Im also in the process of upgrading the exhuast to a 6&1/2inch Magnex oval

Has anyone else fitted a K&N to their clk?

Thanks

Neil

A lot of folks have, but they've experienced the K&N's giving problems with the MAF.
I suggest the Greenfilter instead, a LOT of people are using them without problems.

I've had the K&N filters on my car for around a year, without issues. It sounds a bit different, but I can't say that it feels significantly different. I'm about to (finally) install my underdrive pulley kit within the next week or two and am planning on finally having the car dyno'd and will report back.

Good luck with the underdrive pulley, it's one of the best mods you can do!

Frisco/Underdrive pulley install

I installed a set of EVO Sport pulley kit on my 2003 CLK 5.5 amg. You can view the install at AMGPOWER.COM
Under the CLK forums . Author PTE. It was reasonable , and maybe some of the tips will help you with the install
Take Care & have FUN PTE

You'll have to be careful about that. Greenfilters won't void your warranty. But like any non Mercedes OEM product, if you do a mod, and it results in a failure of a directly related component, the dealer isn't compelled to repair it under warranty.

However, if you get Greenfilters, and you're suspension has a problem, they can't blame it on your suspension. With the low (read: none) amount of complaints about Greenfilters and all the praises I've heard about, I think it's a no brainer to order. Especially since you don't have all the massive oil that K&N uses.

i dont know about under drive pulley. You only get more power cause you swap out the stock pulleys for smaller diameter, putting less strain on the accessorize (waterpumps/alternator/ac compressor). This makes them work not as well so you will get more power but your AC doesnt work as well, you battery wont charge correctly and the engine doesnt get cooling as well... just my 2cents

Depends on what kind of underdrive pulley. It might be the same diameter but just lighter.

That's a fantastic thread to read about pulleys, specifically the Evosport pulley.
