Going to Finally Adjust My Coilovers

I have a new set of PS2s on the way, and I'm planning on having my coilovers adjusted a bit and getting my Evosport UDP installed finally. I currently have about a 1 finger gap in front, and it's 2-2.5 fingers in back. I was thinking about eliminating the gap in the rear but not tucking the tire - it'd be like going from:

To this:

Opinions - too low?

How about no gaps on front & rear? I think that's the best

Eli - would you like to trade? Seems like you want my ride height and I want yours. But honestly, I think my car is too low in the back. It's up to you though, if you like it, go for it.

PS2s arrived and it looks like I'm on for all this work tomorrow!! Thanks for the input; it looks like I have a decision to make and will post pics when I get the car back.

Not done exactly as low as my pic, but it definitely looks better to me! They had trouble getting one of the pulleys off and I have to take it back in next week. I'll post better pics once i get it washed and tire dressed.

What would you rate your ride comfort on a scale of 1 (harsh) to 10 (comfortable) with the drop that low? I ask because my car is no where near as low and it already feels pretty rough.

It's definitely firmer, but I'm not sure that I'd characterize it as harsh. I have the coilovers set at 5 in front and 4 in back (9 is the softest). My buddy's old bucket Buick has a much worse ride.

No rubbing that I can hear at least. I have to say that the new PS2s are awesome - WAY better than my old Dunlop SP9000s!

Frisco,

How's your engine mods coming? How much do you think you're pushing to the ground/crank right now? Your ride height looks great!

Sorry for the delayed response - I didn't notice the thread notification and hadn't looked at this in a while.

I don't know about the 20s Felix. I don't know anyone that has them on the CLK and can't really say if it's possible. My wheels aren't very wide (8.5/9.5") and so my experience won't necessarily be very relevant for someone with a much more agressive setup. I'd be happy to take a pic of the wheel well from the underside of the car to show how much space there is if it would help you.

JamE55 - This car doesn't really have much under the hood... yet. All I have done is eisenmann exhaust, evosport UDP, and K&Ns so far. The next step is going to include a trip to CO, but it looks like I might need to push it out a couple months while I deal with some other stuff I have going on. Once I get the next round of stuff done, I'll cruise down to LA and we can go to the track and compare.

Frisco,

Since you're going to CO i'm assuming you're doing the kleemann stuff? And if so which package? S7, S8 or do you know? Reason i ask is because since you already have the eisenmann exhaust, evosport UDP and K&N's you might have to take those off. If you do the "K" ecu upgrade they might not work with those upgrades. Or you can probably have the guys up there do a total custom ecu which will work with what you have already. Yeah let me know when you're down here and maybe we can compare notes etc. Btw if you're doing the "K" upgrade get the S8 package!
