Trunk/Boot Mounted Brake light

All,

So far, I've had two of the trunk brake lights break on me. Has anyone experienced this before?

Closing the boot, as normal and then the two halves (inside and outside) seperate. The red outside glass breaks cleanly off. These have been covered by warranty so repairs haven't been an issue.

I'm curious as to if anyone has experienced the same as me???

It's a common problem - my car just got out of warranty and I noticed that mine is cracked also.

Considering I have the revised W209, it would have expected it to last a good few months before the first one breaks let alone the second one.

I have seen a lot of CLK's with that problem, bbut definetly would have expected the problem to be resolved on the facelift version... Sorry to hear that.

To top this off, the garage that I have used on both occasions this has broken, have now damaged the interior of my trunk/boot. I am very p1ssed! Pics will come so you can see.....

Avoid "Biermond & Van Wijk - Haarlem - Netherlands" are the culprits. I dont mind naming and shaming them!
