OK, so I had my 2005 CLK 500 at the dealers for a some servicing. They gave me a '04 C230 Kompressor w/o HK Logic 7 or whatever it's called, and I must say, it had 5x more bass, and a better sound system overall.
Anyone experience "crap audio" on the CLK500 HK system? I mean, the thing has no bass, doesn't hit at all, and the mid's and high's are just awful.
Come on Mercedes, a $66,000 full loaded car should at least sound better than POS C230K!! Am I right here?

I've got the standard speaker setup and the base is perfectly fine for me, infact too heavy at times. Considered getting the HK retrofitted by Steve. Not got a cost from Steve yet, but sounds like I may not like it in the end going by your comments.

huh, I got that loaner too, but that thing only have stronger base, the sound quality on c230 kompressor is trash though....... if you want stronger base, add a sub woofer I guess? I am planning put mine back(had it for my 540)

actually I thought my CLK HK was crap but turned out the driver side tweeter was never hooked up from day one. Also CLK HK design does not cause the door switches to rattle, but with the C-Class design the door controls rattle like crazy.
You should probably check to make sure all the speakers are working,
