I was sitting outside at a power smoothie store enjoying my drink waiting for my girlfriend to meet me there, my car was parked close by (just detailed) with all the windows down when an attractive middle aged blonde pulls up in a nice previous generation 7 series and parks, as she is walking toward the store on her cell phone, she stops and looks at my car and says to the person on the phone "wow what a gorgueous looking car", there is a slight pause and she then says looking at the rear of the car "it's a CLK 500 and its black with a creme leather interior", she walks around the side of the car while checking out the interior and comments again on how nice the car is, then as she walks into the store she takes one last look back. She made my day without even knowing it

Sorry to burst your bubble but how shallow can anyone be to comment that how a stranger looks, what they drive, or their comments on your ride compliment you on your decision to buy a car that anyone can buy. Just feeling contrary, but honest. I believe that people that buy cars for what other people will think of them are losers.

You can buy the car for what you like, it's just re-affirmation. Nothing wrong with receiving compliments

If anyone can buy it, where's yours?? Looks like you're mad because you can't have one :p

And I like the 209 way better than the 208....which I didn't buy because of its' looks and poor rear vision. Now a 350 209 is a different story.
Glad you like the W209 way better than the 208, I'm sure all of the 209 owners here appreciate the compliment.
