Wow that is really good gas milage. How fast were u averaging? I usually only get 22 if that on my high way trips... but i guess cause i average 80mph..... do you think the chip had anything to do with better highway milage?

speedtuningusa chip
You sure had better luck with speedtuningusa than I did with my CLK 500. I had mine done several months ago. It was greatly improved for the first 3 WOT runs and then it relearned the old setting and was back to same as before. I called Oliver and he gave me some BS about the car had to learn the new setting. I have about 3000 miles on the chip & have seen no improvement. I think I learned more than the CLK 500 from this chip deal.

Chip
With the BS I got from Olivar after I talked to him about this I don't think it would be worth while to send it back. I had had several other cars chiped, most with great results, all were at least a improvement. I thought this price was a great deal. I had also requested they bump up the shift points another 1,000 RPM. That was done, but the rev limit was not. When you would do a WOT run it would go to the cut off RPM then it would shut down the engine prior to shifting. That isn't what I had in mind! After I did the 3 WOT runs it reverted back to the old setting. The first 3 WOT runs were very impressive though. I had put up a post for them as I thought it was a good value. After my results I did another post to warn a few people. The replies from the peanut gallery on that warning post was fairly insulting for someone who had ran F sport and A sport class, likely before they were out of dippers. If it was I, I would wait to get some positive feed back on their chip prior to jumping. If they have their problem resolved, the price is great compaired to the rest.

Thanks for the info, I was really looking fowards to getting that ECU upgrade, but now I think I'll wait for some more experiences with it. I do WOT runs daily and I obviously don't want this if it is gonna shut down my engine and then go back to normal.

Speedtuningusa is certainly not the best ECU mod, but also NOT the worst. You will see improvement in throttle response etc.....
When taking my E55 to Kleemann, the only thing they tripped out on was how MONSTER RICH speedtuning made the fuel mix. Just a safety precaution I am sure, but my car went from 476 to 496 with Speedtuning ECU, Klee threw on their ECU mod (well, soldered and flashed it...took awhile) and dyno'd again in front of me.....516. Quite a big difference.
For 300 beans, I say go for it, but just know it's not going to be an EVO Powerchip or Kleemann mod power gain. Then again, those pups run a few K$$.

Yes, please keep us updated as I'm still debating whether or not to get it. I spoke to an authorized Kleeman and Brabus dealer 2 days ago and he said that theres a reason why SpeedTuning is 300 and Brabus/Kleeman are 1000 and up. He also said that the chips really do nothing for HP and TQ and that the only mod that will really give the n/a benzes more power would be to put on a supercharger or new headers and exhaust. Other than that, it really won't make too much of a difference.
He told me that for Porsche and Audi, chips make huge differences.

Hey guys the car is doing great i have had no problems with the chip. I made a trip of about 100 miles in my car at a average speed of around 75 95% highway. I had 27.1 mpg i didnt run her hard and didnt pass anyone i tryed to maximize economy with cruise control on 75. I would still recommend it and have no regrets. The power is still there i used my beltronics fx2 performance monitor and did a 0-60 run of 4.91 this is with chip, removed resonator, and i thermotecd my airbox my average economy in my car with about 65 35 city to highway im averageing around 18.5 mpg hope this helps

Yes they told me that mercedes left tolerences in ther fuel and spark mapping for use of 89 octane they said it would work but not great at all they siad by tuning it changes them for 91 octane. You can contact them for more information talk to oliver hes very nice and helped me check there website for contact info. http://www.speedtuningusa.com/ hope this helps taylor

You should have the AMGairbox with greenfilters underneath your hood. PM me. We can work something out. I have one for your CLk500.

I would be carefull this sounds like a vendor for sure. I dont think you can get a quality chip for 200bucks.
i think evosport can tell us all the difference between good and bad software.

I've heard of both good and bad on speedtuningusa... and yet i still have no idea which to side on. I've heard some chips establish a wearing down of parts, does this have that effect? and does it require 91 octane or 93?

mpg pics as well as performance
Hello guys i know that what i say will not change your minds all i was trying to do was report on a good experence but i hope this helps some of my critics these are pics of a short 54mile trip in my clk500 where i recieved 25.9 mpg at a average speed of 60mph as well as a 0-60 run with a beltronics fx2 performance tester i understand this may not be the most accurate test but i did have alot of wheel spin and i recieved a 4.9 if you compare that to road and track they had a 5.2 i believe a 4.75 is possible but i just got new rear tires and dont want to burn them down yet :v
enjoy

hey guys just wanted to help clear things up 91 is the minimum with the chip but 93 is suggested i run 92 and 93 and have had no problems. Also once the modified software is flashed in the ecu it will NOT GO AWAY OR REVERT BACK TO STOCK unless you reflash it with something else. yes im very happy with my chip. and soon to be posted the top speed of a clk500 chipped!
p.s verb please post your dynos as i am very eager to see them
