Great News!
Well today he called me and informed me that he was mistaken, and that the car that is on the water is, in fact, mine. It will be at VPC the 1st or 2nd- he asked me if they could keep it a couple of days for people to see- elated with the news I said, "Sure." I bought a digital camera today and assure you that the second it gets here I will be snapping away.

1. Do you guys buy the new CLK in MSRP basis?? or does it have an extra charges since it is the first production?
2. Is it possible for us to get the new E/CLK below MSRP, like invoice price?
3. I ordered the new E which will come end of august, and the dealer promise me that he will sell it within MSRP price, Is it a good deal?? The reason I ask this question is because my friend ordered a 2003 ML with 2000 below MSRP.
I also post this in W203 forum. I hope you guys can give me opinion regarding this.
thanks in advance
btw, Good luck for benzo

I don't believe your friend ordered an '03 ML with 2000 below MSRP, whats the name of the dealer and I'll order my CLK from them, that is unheard of, MB hardly ever discounts at all, if you get the new E at MSRP you are winning b/c they can sell it for more if they want.........your friend might be BS'ing you...

Is your arrival August 2nd at the VPC or the dealer? Mine is going to be at the VPC on August 2nd and then takes 5-7 days for processing. Then we have to see when Mercedes Benz lets them out to the dealers which is anytime between August 1st to the 15th!
Good Luck!

I dont believe too that dealer will give such discount for new model. That why I post this message to ask you guys whether this is true or not. My friend who ordered the ML lives in Pasadena CA, If I meet him again , I will ask about the dealer , which dealer and who is the sales person. $2000 below MSRP??? ehmm, I don't think so, but who konows!!! Anyone get 2003 model below MSRP?????
To Young ,
Yes you are right, in Southern Cal , dealers do have great discount even for current model, but I don't know how much they willing to give.
btw, many thanks for the reply
I have to admit that I was feeling pretty dissapointed after not receiving a VIN# or even a build date... I called and asked my salesperson and he told me that the only CLK500 he showed on his list was for the launch.

You probably have a tough time selling your CLK430. It tpook me lesser time to sell my BMW than CLK. Maybe CLK worth more but I don't know, if I didn't have a friend helping me I would give up and traded in for a lot less.
GOOD LUCK
i would think souther cali would be more expensive cuz down there everyone has money. ;-) how much would they discount anyway?
LIL Raja
The assumption that a lot of people have money is correct, but in So. Cal. MBZ dealers are almost as plentiful as McDonald's!!! There is a great deal of competition & each dealer is looking to undercut the other to move a piece of metal. Now, on new models you might as well forget it, until the market is flooded with cars and then it becomes the "Who can go the lowest" show!
I know the market is totally different on the East coast and Mid West, but if you look at it this way; those dealers do not get as many cars allocated to them, so they must maximize thier profit. Unlike some dealers in So. Cal. that have 100 C240's on the ground, you do anything to get rid of them!!!!
P.S.
Your friend (I think) is feeding you a line of B.S. about the discount on the '03 ML!!!!
