next generation CLK class

from eMercedesBenz:

As you can probably tell from the above photograph, our friends over at AutoBild are back at it again, this time unveiling computer-generated images of what they believe the latest CLK-Class will look like.

The German publication is reporting that newest rendition of the CLK will feature a larger body, redesigned headlights that remind me way too much of a Lexus, and redesigned taillights that I just don't like. Unless my eyes are deceiving me, the new CLK will also feature a Mercedes' logo in the front grille roughly the size of the driver's head.

Am I skeptical? No, not at all.

For more info, you can check out the roughly translated story and photo gallery over at AutoBild by clicking here.

Just from the pics of it, im not feeling it. It's weird looking.

Yeh, don't like the back, the front does not look to bad. Overall it needs to look meaner.

I think the only change you are going to see in the w209 is the 6.3 V8 until about 2008 where we may get a new model. And I don't believe the current w209 can handle the new 6.3 anyway. But rummors have it the new V8 we come in June, July this years, wait & see?

Those pictures above seem to be the next generation CL's. Check out the CL boards, which already have those pictures. I hightly doubt the CLK will change anytime soon, at most by 2008. It just came out in 2003, id imagine it would be out in the market for at least 5 years.

I think it's the CLK as the CL does not come in cab form. I also think it's for the 2008 MY.

Take it easy, the new body is a year or so away. The new 5.5 382 hp engine however is apparently due in July

Someone will get upset about this but this a site for opinions. I think the current clk is the worst looking model in the benz line-up. The first gen model looked way imo. The current model looks more like a....well, never mind. Anything is an improvement. I don't think the current model is ugly, just not as attractive as the other models.

Keep in mind that this is only what Auto Bild thinks it will look like...althought Auto Bild has been pretty good at guessing in the past. I can see hints of the R and B class in front so maybe this is the future design trend for MB?

I think it's the best looking in the line up. :p I like the combination of curves and angles that it has. I also love the front end of the car. Were you looking at a CLK 500/55? I think that the 320 doesn't look good at all. I think the AMG body work really defines the car. Also, the car absolutely has to have the bi xenon lights. Without the AMG body work and the xenons, the car doesn't look good.

You forget to say that the pictures are this:

AUTO BILD-Vorschau: Mercedes CLK (Computer-Zeichnung) which means AUTO BILD-Preview: Mercedes CLK (Computer-Drawing)

In plain English, they are guessing still, but I would expect something based on these pictures.
