Saw my first CLK 500
I stopped by my local benz dealer to find out if they new the release date for my CLK500 (ordered June, 2001). I am told it will be at the port (Oakland, Cal.) on Aug. 16th, but they still don't know when it will be released or how much it will cost.
Anyway, as I was leaving I noticed a "car" sitting infront of the dealer, parked on the street, that looked like the CLK. It was a light gold (?) CLK500 with dist. license plates. The driver let me go over the car and sit in it, but not drive it. He (Serge) told me the car drove"great" and was very quick. It looked smaller than I thought from the pictures, but was quite comforable to sit in. I did not try the back seats.
All in all it was quite handsome...very sleek, but a little small looking.

Indeed, it looks "small" !Everytime I go over my silver park next to a W203
The new C looks bigger
Though every dimension of W209 is actually larger than the C.
They're in the same color silver, if you choose the deep ones
e.g Black, dark blue... it looks even smaller.
"White" can help it looks bigger, silver is not.
