Brakes-Issues regarding pulsating at hwy speeds

I had the brake springs replaced pursuant to the TSB I saw posted here re squeaking. The squeaking never really stopped, but I noticed a pulsation when applying the barkes from highway speeds. I figured that it would resolve itself as my car had pulsation when I first got it, but now I think at 19k miles the rotors may be warped. Can the dealer turn the rotors, or will they replace them. Either way I am going to try to get them to cover it under warranty because the brake rotors should have lasted longer than 19k miles. Alternatively, it could be an issue related to the replacement of the brake springs, which I am hoping since it will definitely be covered under warranty.

Has anyone else had a pulsation when braking at hwy speeds? If so was it a result of your rotor be warped?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the rotors may be warped. Also there may be a new TSB for new brake pads to reduce the squeal.

first of all you do not turn mercedes rotors. your pulsations will get worse. 19k miles is not abnormally low for rotors to be worn on a 500. It will be very tough to get rotors or pads replaced under warranty because they are not covered. "wear item" and the TSB on the brake springs would not cause any wear of the pads or rotors. Good luck, but you probably are going to need new rotors at your expense

Dealer called, front rotors are warped, so they are doing front brakes but ...

shouldn't the pads wear out before the rotors?

Maybe they aren't worn out...'warped rotors' is a catch all phrase used to describe bad rotors but often there is no 'warping' at all. If you are careful with pad/rotor break in and cool down when they get overheated you can prevent or minimize the pulsation. Break in involves controlled heating and cooling of the pads and rotors when new.

My rotors were worn thin at 28,000 miles, and the pads had to be replaced too. I'm not surprised yours lasted only 20,000 miles.
