I'll find out in about 30 minutes! Every time I call my dealer, he's with a client!!

On another note, everywhere I call on Long Island for lease pricing of the CLK 500, they tell me $850 with the taxes paid up front + the first payment.

My dealer was telling me $1044/ month! I am going to kill him! I want my car now and at the lower price!!!!

I'll keep you posted.

If thats the case and your sure that price is too high (other dealers seem to be lower with a car that has the same equipment as yours, same terms).....tell your dealer to chill on banging you over the head on the interest rate. Your most likely paying MSRP for the car, he doesn't need to make a $2k+ backend reserve (although he would like to).

"The Don" is getting his car from the same dealership that I am - Mercedes-Benz of Huntington (NY).

I spoke to my dealer a few months ago, and told him that I want a contract, in writing, that says that I will not have to pay a premium over sticker. He told me that they don't do that, but the deposit I put down is enough, and that I will get the car with no funny business. After hearing what "The Don" is dealing with, I'm getting worred

Maybe because I'm buying it outright (opposed to leasing it, like him) they won't fuq with me?

Thats BS (I would go back to them), I'm sure you know that Competition Imports owns Huntington MB as well. We are going on our second car from Competition of Smithtown. I told our salesperson to write down that the car will be sold at MSRP at time of delivery (E500), which she happily did. I'll deal with the interest rate later, taking one thing at a time.

You can't compare leases with other makes......but to give you an idea, Jaguar's new S-Type R (limited production) at MSRP which is $64,250 I believe with NAV. The car does not have a special program, nor does it have a great residual. You can get that car for $1140/month with every dime (tax, lux tax) rolled into the lease, 36 months, 12k year, no cap reduction, no security.

There is no reason a $58k Benz, guessing on price, should be almost $1050 a month with taxes up front......thats way to expensive.

Nothing yet, I should get it tomorrow or Wednesday this week. It's been released Friday from the VPC and it only takes 4 hours to get here from Maryland, so maybe tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

On another note: Mercedes minimum that they charge for their leases is a money factor of .00314 which is 7.536%. The dealer is allowed to add 125 points to that or 1.25% which would be a maximum of 8.786% or a money factor of 0.003660833 (8.786/24).

There is a Bank Fee of $595.00 which the dealer can make $300 profit on coming out to $895.00 Max.

With my calculations (CLK 500 15,000 miles a year, 36 months, and a residual value of 68%) the car can be charged per month $968.49 including taxes minimum or $1028.32 at the highest.

This is the REAL DEAL! Don't let anybody screw you. Show them you know and go get 'em!!!

The above is for my CLK 500 MSRP $63,020.00
