Hi, I am thinkin about getting a CLK 320 or 430, but before I get it I want to know if any of you know if it has any major problems associated w. it such as mainteance, electrical problems etc. Also how good is it on gas?

Harmonic Balancer. They all broke or will break in the older genreation CLK's. Mercedes would not admit defect and they were repaired at owners expense. When they break, they usually cause damage to the oil pan and repairs cost in the $1500 to $2000 range. Had 2 99 CLK 320's and it happened to both of them within a couple of months of each other. If it has already been broken and changed, it won't happen again and nothing to fear. Besides that I almost think my 99 CLK 320 was built better than my 2004 CLK 500. I know the paint job and leather is better than the new model. Do a search, this has been talked about on this forum quite a while ago.
