weird noise

Hi I was wondering if anyone has experienced this but I recently noticed a weird noise when I accelerate, I don’t know where it is coming from, the noise sounds kind of like a rubbing whirring noise I have the eisenmann race exhaust but I don’t know if its coming from it I can clearly here the exhausts sound then I here the other hissing kind of noise and its driving me crazy I know that my description isn’t that good but has any one experienced anything like this or any suggestions to what it could be thanks- Andrew

I hear you loud and clear. I have an Eisenmann as well but i doubt it's coming from there. Every time i accelerate (especially aggressively) a weird sound comes from below my back seat. It's like metal rubbing on metal. Annoying as hell!!!! I took it to the dealer. I asked them to take my back seat out and check for imperfections but instead, they asked if i had lowered my car. I said yes; having Brabus shocks and springs. After a tour with a technician, their verdict was that the sound was coming from my aftermarket coilovers and that they were either installed improperly or that it's a normal mechanical sound. They refused to touch them as they were aftermarket products. Anyway, i'm kind of living with it. I got used to it. The people who installed the coilovers said that everything looks in place. I don't know...

Wish you were in Los Angeles. We would have met and compared our sounds. Other than that, we may have to deal with it. Every time i have someone in the car i'm asked: "What's that sound"? It's very embarrassing!

The engine itself makes a whirring high pitched noise when you accelerate, maybe that's it? I also have the Eisenmann exhaust and I don't hear anything like that. Maybe there is a small leak where the new muffler is connected? Did you get the resonator cut out?

yea i have a feeling it may be the engine, i dono if it could be a small leak comming from the muffler because i think i would have heard it as soon as they installed the exhaust, i didnt cut the resonator out im still thinking about doing it

Lift the engine hood and rev it so you can see whether its coming from the engine or not. Good luck.
