just test drove one
Admittedly, one doesn't buy a coupe for the back seat, but it's a factor for me, cuz I have lots of friends who'd be subjected to them...
One question: in the center stack, what is the function of the very top, center dial, near the vents? Also, what is the grill-thing in the center of the top of the dash for? (The salesman wasn't sure what it was -- it looks like a speaker grille, but he said it was for ventillation...)
Also, I am a big fan of Navigation. Does anyone know what, other than the completeness of coverage, the advantage of the upcoming DVD-based COMAND system is? I can wait a year for the 204 CLK if the DVD COMAND a significant improvement over the CD-based system. (However, I do virtually NO long distance travel, so I would essentially not ever need additional CDs for my navigation needs....)
Thank you to all who have read this whole post!
i thought the grill on top of the dash was a speaker? no?
agreed; the navigation going to DVD is not enough reason not to buy the car if one likes it, needs it, or wants a fairly early one. In mine the CD based system seems more than enough, but I'm not driving across the whole country either.
2 days and still like the car:-}.
cheers!
I don't mean to offend anyone, but if back seat space is an BIG issue, consider the new E. It will offer the new DVD navigation system, in-dash cd player, airmatic suspension as well as other goodies. Let's face it, the CLK is a 2 seater with room in the back for quick trips.
I need therapy!
