C32 AMG or CLK500?

If you had the choice what would you take. Both can pretty much be had for around same price.

after living with a clk320 for the past 2 years, i would like to say the clk500(bec i would have loved the extra powers and handsome amg looks), but if you need the extra doors the c32 should be good enough,

imho the clk is still a fresh design and the c32 will be put to rest very soon, and a new c class will evolve

CLK 500. That V8 is soooooo sweet plus it's just a better looking car.

go for the clk500, better quality and better looks too. c32amg is slightly faster than the clk500 but i rather take a coupe with better interior and better looks.

............I think you should look into the W208 CLK55. At the same price as the other cars you are considering you will get the muscular look of the W208, the AMG, the V8 and performance.

what year CLK500? one with the interior upgrade or the one without.

if the one without, go with the C32. 2003-2004 CLK500 pretty much shares all the switch gear with the W203. If one with the new interior of course you can't get the new W203 interior for the C32.

any AMG built quality is gonna be better than regular MB to certain extend.

I raced a guy in an XKR and we took it from about 0-110. I had a passenger in the car and still managed to beat the Jag (it was a convertible so maybe thats why it didnt beat me). So, the CLK500 is still a pretty fast car.

Yup, it was an R convertible. It had the hood vents and everything, I even asked the guy if it was supercharged. I didn't smoke him, it was damn close but I did wind up ahead. He wasn't too happy, Lol.

A C32 is still a C Class and after being in one, I hated it. The CLK is much nicer and more refined. You'll feel 10x better in the CLK.

a CLK is still based on the C-class. same chassi, same suspensions, same drive train except the 500.

lol...from 01-04 for the C-class the center console switch gears it's shared with the CLK from 03-04. Even the comand is the same shape. When the C made it's interior upgrade in 05 the CLK did the same with the same looking center console. The only different part in the dash board is the main speedo/tech and the air vents. where the C from 01-04 was really ****ty while the CLK one looked better. I've drove friend's 03 CLK320 plenty of times and it doesn't feel like I'm driving a different car other than the seat is more comfortable compare to general w203. Now the W208 that felt more like the up-scale W210 rather than the W202 it was based on.

either way, if he's considering the CLK500 from 05-present than go with that instead of the C32 because it's very costly to upgrade the interior to the 05-present w203.

Im going to be going with a 03 CLK500 if I go that route. Im guessing a CLK will also be cheaper to insure and maintain.

maintainance would be about the same. only problem to worry on the C32 is the intercooler pump. If without warranty that will cost around $600 to fix. I have the extended warranty so that was fixed for free. The CLK500 and C32 uses the same brake setup. consumption of gas would probably be the same as well. I get around 22mpg on the freeway and 18-19mpg combined.

Insurance wise I don't think the CLK's gonna be less expensive.

The interior of my '06 CLK was FAR superior to the interior of Enterprise's '06 C. So I don't care what it's based on.

It's like the Lexus ES330 is based ont the Toyota Camry, right? Ever been in both?

06 C350 interior

06 CLK350 interior

Like I've just said...the difference is in the speedo and the air vents. Look at all the switch gears on the center console. door panel etc are obvious change that a coupe needs.

There is a reason a lot of people like the W208 better because it looked more like the up-scale W210 even though it's based on the W202. The W209 failed in this dept where the interior looks the pretty much the same as the W203 instead of the W211 which it should've been given it's price tag. Given a fair review of both interior they are 90% the same. saying one is FAR better than the other simply shows biased opinion.

Now if you say that C32 interior is crap compare to the new car's that I would agree with you. However a 2003 CLK500 would have the same sort of interior.

btw, ever been in Japan? There is no Camry and only the Windom is for sale in Japan. The Camry is done completely by American studio from Toyota in the US. Well that and the Avalon. Windom/ES330 is what Toyota engineer that chassi for in the first place. Camry is more like a by product because they need an affordable midsize car for sale in the US. It's just like the US Accord versus Euro Accord/Acura TSX. They set out to make the Euro/Better version and then use the same chassi to built a cheaper car.
