after living with a clk320 for the past 2 years, i would like to say the clk500(bec i would have loved the extra powers and handsome amg looks), but if you need the extra doors the c32 should be good enough,
imho the clk is still a fresh design and the c32 will be put to rest very soon, and a new c class will evolve

............I think you should look into the W208 CLK55. At the same price as the other cars you are considering you will get the muscular look of the W208, the AMG, the V8 and performance.

what year CLK500? one with the interior upgrade or the one without.
if the one without, go with the C32. 2003-2004 CLK500 pretty much shares all the switch gear with the W203. If one with the new interior of course you can't get the new W203 interior for the C32.
any AMG built quality is gonna be better than regular MB to certain extend.

I raced a guy in an XKR and we took it from about 0-110. I had a passenger in the car and still managed to beat the Jag (it was a convertible so maybe thats why it didnt beat me). So, the CLK500 is still a pretty fast car.

Yup, it was an R convertible. It had the hood vents and everything, I even asked the guy if it was supercharged. I didn't smoke him, it was damn close but I did wind up ahead. He wasn't too happy, Lol.

either way, if he's considering the CLK500 from 05-present than go with that instead of the C32 because it's very costly to upgrade the interior to the 05-present w203.

maintainance would be about the same. only problem to worry on the C32 is the intercooler pump. If without warranty that will cost around $600 to fix. I have the extended warranty so that was fixed for free. The CLK500 and C32 uses the same brake setup. consumption of gas would probably be the same as well. I get around 22mpg on the freeway and 18-19mpg combined.
Insurance wise I don't think the CLK's gonna be less expensive.

Like I've just said...the difference is in the speedo and the air vents. Look at all the switch gears on the center console. door panel etc are obvious change that a coupe needs.
There is a reason a lot of people like the W208 better because it looked more like the up-scale W210 even though it's based on the W202. The W209 failed in this dept where the interior looks the pretty much the same as the W203 instead of the W211 which it should've been given it's price tag. Given a fair review of both interior they are 90% the same. saying one is FAR better than the other simply shows biased opinion.
Now if you say that C32 interior is crap compare to the new car's that I would agree with you. However a 2003 CLK500 would have the same sort of interior.
