Sunroof Option

I'll be ordering a Brilliant Silver CLK500 next week and I'm on the fence as to whether I should get the sunroof or not. I'm trying to keep the cost down by only getting the options that are a "must have" for me. I rarely use a sunroof....only to let the hot air out before the AC kicks in. If I don't get one do you think it would affect the resale value greatly? One salesman told me that they can't sell a MB without a sunroof and they practically have to give it away. I'm sure he was exaggerating. Opinions please, sunroof or no sunroof.

I've never owned a Benz.....do the sunroofs rattle?

The options I’m getting are Bi-Xenon, CD Changer and heated seats.

Thanks!
Michele

I suggest getting the sunroof, it does keep the value of the car up b/c if you don't get a factory installed sunroof you can't get one at all, aftermarket sunroofs suck and leak, also a MB sunroof will never rattle....I too want to keep the cost down but no sunroof????

You absolutely want the sunroof. You will get crushed on resale without it. Never had a problem with my Benz's sunroofs.

My CLK 500 has one-touch close, which my 2001 CLK 430 did not.

Yes, sunroof is important when resale it.
I saw a few Demo CLK here w/o sunroof and Salesman is willing to give me discount, No ! that's still not convincible
I'll "wait" and order another one with it.

Don't let this becomes an excuse they're cutting your resale
value seriously.
The 744 color is popular, good for resale.

I HIGHLY recommend the sunroof option...
besides the resale issues, it's a great feature and includes the rear sunscreen. I took delivery last week of my silver/ash '500 and I'm very impressed with the car and its features The sunroof has rear tilt open an a sliding sunblock panel with vents for when you have the rear tilted open.
You'll regret it if you don't get it..

2003 CLK500
CLK500 sunroof much improved over my CLK430's; auto-open and close, and little tabs that prevent the gasket from coming out (as the old one sometimes did). Very solid; no regrets on getting it. One never gets back everything on resale, so the point has to be one's enjoyment; and of course marketablity is easier later on.

Thanks for everyone's input and comments! I've decided to get the sunroof package.
