Side Mirrors: heated?

Side Mirrors: heated?
For my 2004 CLK320 coupe, are the side mirror heated? How does it work? Are the heat on all the time?
It was raining earlier today and I noticed that they were droplets of water on one of the side mirrors but not the other one. I checked and sure enough, one of the mirrors felt hot to my hand.

Heated ??? YES
The side mirror of the CLK is heated both side mine is w209 06 model.
But about ur model i'm niot sure.
But normally it shoudl be heated both side.
It wont heated all the time, only hen it start raining and im not sure if it starts from certain speed while it is raining.

if soemthign is wrong i'm sure other people will give u soem more info.

Yes, both side mirrors should be heated at the same time. One of my side mirrors is probably defective because it was replaced a few months ago.
I am sure the heat is not on all the time. I am interested in what triggers the heat to come on? Maybe it's the defroster, maybe there is a heat sensor.... ?
