Resetting Service A message

Ok, so my car is sold its being picked up this week but i took it for service a few weeks ago and performed a Service A.... My dealer forgot to "tell" the computer that the service has been completed and now it says my service A is due...
I can not drive it back to the dealer since i cancelled insurance and i rather not take the risk of driving it without the proper insurance.

Is there any way for me to erase this code myself? The dealer told me i could try turning the engine on, then go to the option where it says that the service is due and hold on the "reset" button (which resets the trip meter) but this has not worked, does anyone else have any ideas on what i could do??
thanks!

Yeah you just hold in the reset button for 3-5 seconds when you are the service message and it should pop up a message asking you to confirm by pushing down the reset button again. It works for me at least - I just did it the other day actually.

I'm pretty sure I did it with the key in either position 1 or 2
