Premium Fuel
I know there have been many discussions on this very topics. Not sure if a final decision has been reached.
I travelled frequently between Montreal and Toronto in my 2004 CLK320 Coupe. I usually go 120 KMH all the way to cover the 550 KM trip (one way). Constant speed at 120 kmh is not demanding at all to the engine. I am thinking maybe I can mix in some regular fuel (87 grade) for these trips. Is this a good idea?
I have been putting in premium grade only since I bought the car 3 years ago. I am not saying I would mix in lower grade fuel for these trips. I just want to explore all my options.

Putting lower grade fuel will not harm the car. But there will be no benefit to doing so because any savings from using cheaper, lower grade fuel is taken away by the fact that the car's computer retards the timing and gives you less fuel efficiency. You're using cheaper gas, but you're burning more of it, so you don't save any money.
