Drove the new CLK550
It's faaassstt!!!! This car hauls ***!!! Did I mention it's fast?
During the test drive the seven speed auto box did the hard drop into first when coming to a stop trick!!! Will MB ever learn?
The car has the E63 steering wheel w/ paddles and the one I drove had the sport suspension which added a nice tightness to the handling.

CLK550, Sports Suspension, Black Opal
I have a CLK550. I have yet to find a road where I can floor it through more than one shift (I don't count standing starts - those are silly) before I hit a speed where I need to hit the brakes. But I can jump pass from 40 to 90 in one or two car lengths to pass on winding roads. The engine is very civilized below 4K and a screaming demon when it spins up. The paddle shifters allow me to downshift into curves and power out without flooring it to force the shift. Cruising on the highway at 90 I get 27 MPG. The engine snoozes at 2-2200 rpm with plenty or torque available. Amazing.. I am in love. I drove almost 900 miles to Atlanta and back from NYC for the sheer pleasure of it.
