2003 CLK Discounts

I ma in Canada. I have ordered a 2003 CLK320. ALthough I tried, I could not obtain a discount whatsoever on the price of the car or the freight & PDI charge, which in Canada is $1,500.

Is this typical for the 2003 CLK? I was told if I wanted a 2002 CLK that no PDI and a free CD changer could be had.

Not surprising...

When cars are in high demand, as it seems the newest CLKs are, dealers have no incentive to cut you a deal. Why should they considering they will quite likely find someone to pay MSRP or higher, if you say "no" to their offer?

To answer your second question: Presumably, as the new CLKs find there way to the showroom floor, they will want to clear out their inventory of previous generation CLKs, and are willing to cut a deal to do so.

the best deal i was able to get on my car was about $100 off list once the destination, luxury tax, etc was added in. Even the $100 or so was because this is the 4th car my family has purchased ffrom this dealer. Otherwise, no way they would've sold it for even MSRP.

I also put a down payment for a clk320 this past weekend.
But now that I think about it, I think I may have left the dealership too early. The salesperson told me roughly how much the car would cost me, which is basically MSRP. He also wrote down the base price and all the option prices down on a order sheet for me. But how binding is this? Am I running the risk of having the dealer, come back with a different price once the car arrives? Should I go back and get this all in writing and signed off by the salesperson and his manager, etc.?

Has anyone else had any experience with a mercedes dealer in the san francisco bay area? I went to Mercedes Benz of Pleasanton and placed my order, but does anyone have good experiences anywhere else in this area?

Thanks.

I am a repeat customer, and got a slight discount from my salesperson. I must say, that I have the most professional and courteous salesperson I have ever met. You may not get a discount, but he will make your car purchase a wonderful experience!! Tell him Chris Kurn mentioned his name.

I wanted to get all season floor mat and trunk net-sill for mine but the dealer did not have any in stock. I had to order them and pay about $120... so I did not get anything for free...
