W209 Driver side airbag wiring

Does anyone know where the airbag / streering wheel controls wires go in the steering column? My airbag got stolen and the idiots cut all the wires behind the airbag, so basically I have punch of wires hanging out of the streeing wheel. I got used airbag and need to figure out what is the best way to remedy the situation. Cannot connect anything to the new airbag / steering wheel connectors as the thiefs cut the wires before connectors.. I only have plain wires that either need new connectors or better may to replace the wire harness altogether. God hope these wires are part of their own harness that plugs into the main wire harness. Does anyone have steering column explosion diagram by any change or know where is the closest connector located inside the dash?

Thanks, Juha

Seems like a pretty nasty undertaking. If thieves stole it, why isn't insurance covering the repair?

I bought the car as it is so no insurance coverage on this one. I heard that wireharnesses are replaceable because when the airbag explodes the gas chamber can get so hot that it can melt the harness connector. That's all this far.

I was born in the Finland, not there anymore...

you need to replace the CLOCKSPRING which holds those wires. About 80 bucks. I would NOT suggest crimping airbag connectors in place. Just buy a new clock spring and you will have new wires with the correct connectors.

More like $300, but I agree, definetly replace the clockspring.
